The session will bring together manufacturers and companies from across the small wind value chain to present their technologies and project experience, followed by an open discussion on sector opportunities and challenges, and the role of WWEA in supporting market development.

Messe Husum & Congress, organiser of Husum Wind, together with the wind energy industry network WAB e.V., will host an offshore wind excursion on 31 August providing insight into wind farm and grid connection developments in the North Sea. Around 500 national and international participants are expected to join the full-day trip aboard the high-speed catamaran Halunder Jet, operated by FRS Helgoline, departing from Hamburg.

The World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) will host an online webinar on 8 April 2026 focused on the role of small wind in hybrid minigrid systems. The webinar will examine the growing use of minigrids in remote and underserved areas, where systems combining solar photovoltaic generation, small wind and battery storage are being deployed to improve energy access, reduce reliance on diesel generation and strengthen grid resilience.

WavEC Offshore Renewables will hold its annual international seminar, “WavEC Lisbon 2025 – Portugal and Brazil: Transatlantic Alliance to Boost Floating Wind,” on 4 December 2025 at the Museu do Oriente in Lisbon. The event takes place as Portugal reassesses its offshore wind timetable following recent statements from the Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition that development will progress only when economically feasible. Discussion is expected to centre on the conditions required to support cost-effective and sustainable floating wind.
