OWC supports survey work at Portuguese offshore wind sites

The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has appointed OWC to support geophysical and geotechnical surveys at the Leixões and Figueira da Foz wind farm areas. Both sites form part of Portugal’s Allocation Plan for Offshore Renewable Energy.
Orlen secures National Recovery Plan funding for offshore wind projects

Orlen has signed agreements with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego for around PLN 3.5 billion in funding from the National Recovery Plan. Of this, PLN 900 million will support the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, with the remainder allocated to the Baltic East project.
BSH approves plan for Nordlicht II offshore wind farm

The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has issued the planning approval for Vattenvall's Nordlicht II offshore wind project. Nordlicht Offshore Wind plans to build the wind farm in the German Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Sea, on site N-6.6, more than 84 kilometres from the island of Borkum and at least 96 kilometres from the mainland.
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies commissions new extrusion line for large seal profiles

Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has introduced a molten-salt vulcanising extrusion line designed to expand its range of sealing profiles for technical applications, including onshore and offshore wind turbines. The liquid curing method uses a closed-loop salt system heated to around 200°C to provide uniform heat transfer and improved process stability.
Iberdrola increases stake in Neoenergia to 84%

Iberdrola has acquired Previ’s 30.29% stake in Neoenergia, bringing its ownership to around 84% of the company’s share capital. Neoenergia supplies electricity to nearly 40 million people in Brazil through five distribution companies across Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Brasilia.

Maryland backs legal move to restart US Wind offshore project

Maryland attorney general Anthony G Brown has filed an amicus brief in support of US Wind’s request for a preliminary injunction that would allow construction of its planned 2.2 GW offshore wind project to resume. Work was halted in September under the Trump administration.
