Q Energy has started dismantling the Plomodiern wind farm in Finistère, with the turbines set to be completely overhauled and redeployed at a new site in 2028. Renvo, a company specialising in the reuse and repurposing of wind turbines, has selected machines suitable for refurbishment for the future location. Coverwind is handling the dismantling of the Plomodiern turbines, which are managed by Energiter.
Spain opens design phase for floating offshore wind auction

The Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has launched a public consultation to guide the design of the country’s first competitive auction for floating offshore wind. Companies, industry associations and public authorities can submit feedback until 24 February. The consultation will guide the final design of the auction mechanism.

The project will enable the transfer of 1,800 MW of renewable energy from Scotland’s islands to the UK mainland. Nordex has received an order from Bürgerwindpark BHU Betriebs for the Bosbüll Holm Uphusum community wind farm, which spans three villages in the North Frisia region of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The contract covers the delivery of eight N163/6.X wind turbines, each installed on 118-metre tubular steel towers and operating in 7 MW mode, bringing total capacity to 56 MW.
