Alberta Electricity System Operator (AESO) is now accepting Expressions of Interest for Renewable Electricity Program (REP) Round 1 until April 21, 2017. The REP is intended to encourage the development of 5,000MW of renewable electricity generation capacity connected to the Alberta grid between now and 2030.
REP Round 1
- Will procure up to 400 MW of renewable electricity capacity
- Must be operational in 2019
- Applicable to new or expanded projects in Alberta
- Must be equal to or greater than 5 MW
- Must meet the Natural Resources Canada definition of renewable energy
- Must utilise the existing transmission and/or distribution system
