Viking Life-Saving Equipment has introduced a new version of its Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) immersion suit, designed specifically for women working in offshore wind energy. The VIKING YouSafe Cyclone suit was developed using input on inclusivity and diversity from Ørsted, Siemens, and Vestas.
Made from high-visibility Gore-Tex Narvik, the suit meets the same dual SOLAS/MED and CE/ISO safety standards as the male version and is available in a range of sizes. It includes features such as compatibility with standard offshore harnesses, Neoprene cuffs and neck seals, retro-reflective piping for visibility, and a maintenance-free zipper.
The suit’s design has been adapted for shorter torsos and different hip and chest proportions. The range of sizes reduces the risk of snagging on equipment, while ensuring comfort and mobility for activities such as transferring from vessels, climbing towers, or working inside nacelles. Integrated braces also allow the top part of the suit to be removed while keeping the trousers in place, supporting greater freedom of movement when not in active use.
