Three wind projects co-developed by Innergex Renewable Energy and Indigenous partners have been selected in BC Hydro’s latest Request for Proposals for new renewable energy generation. Together, the projects represent a combined capacity of 560 MW.
K2 Wind Project: This 160 MW project is located in the Central Interior of British Columbia, 33 km west of Peachland and Westbank. It is being developed in partnership with Westbank First Nation (51% equity) and Innergex (49%).
Nithi Mountain Wind Project: Situated in the Bulkley-Nechako region of northern British Columbia, this 200 MW project is being co-developed with Stellat’en First Nation (51%) and Innergex (49%).
Stewart Creek Wind Project: Located in the Peace Region of northeastern British Columbia, this 200 MW project is being developed by Innergex (49%) and West Moberly First Nations (51%).
The projects are expected to begin commercial operations between 2030 and 2031. Power purchase agreements with BC Hydro are planned to be 30-year take-or-pay contracts, indexed to a predefined percentage of the Consumer Price Index.
Project advancement remains subject to final contract execution with BC Hydro and suppliers, as well as permitting and regulatory approvals.
