Ocean Winds has signed a contract with Polish company P&Q for the implementation of the onshore connection infrastructure for the BC-Wind offshore wind project. The contract scope covers the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of an onshore substation in the municipality of Choczewo, Pomorskie Voivodeship.
P&Q has commenced the design phase, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026. The onshore substation will be located in Choczewo, approximately 30 kilometres from the BC-Wind offshore wind farm site. The investment will include the construction of 400kV and 275kV overhead switchgear, a power transformer, a control room building, and a reactive power compensation facility. Ocean Winds is a 50-50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie.
