The American Renewable Energy Standards and Certification Association (ARESCA) is inviting wind energy experts to join a consensus body to support the adoption of international standards in the USA. Experts who are directly and materially affected by these standards are encouraged to apply to join the ARESCA Standards Committee of the Board (SCB)

The US Senate Finance Committee has released a draft bill proposing significant changes to the federal tax credit framework for clean energy technologies. Under the proposal, tax credits for wind and solar projects would be fully phased out by 2028, while support for hydropower, nuclear and geothermal energy would be extended through 2036.

Germany has announced the results of its first offshore wind auction for projects to be commissioned in 2025. The tender covered the not centrally pre-developed N-9.4 site in the North Sea, with a surface area of 146 km² and a planned capacity of up to 1.2 GW. The auction followed a price-only format and included negative bidding.

The Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) has released an updated version of its Offshore Wind Power Hub, a centralised tool designed to help policymakers and advocates monitor offshore wind activity across the USA. The platform’s Interactive Map presents detailed, up-to-date information on offshore wind projects, lease areas, ports, and power landings. It shows the development stage of each project and lease area, including details on contracts, permits and construction. Filters allow users to explore projects by specific attributes and development phases.

The Fundación Renovables has released a guide promoting best practices for offshore wind development along Spain’s coastline. The document, published with support from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, aims to ensure that offshore wind deployment balances environmental and social impacts while accelerating the energy transition. Spain is expected to launch its first offshore wind auctions later in 2025. The foundation argues that social and economic stakeholders must be involved from the outset to promote broad acceptance of the projects.
